Across Round Rock ISD, Kindergarten through 2nd grade participates in the Armadillo Reader's Choice voting each year. Ten newly published picture books are nominated each year by district librarians. The titles are selected with the intention to represent diversity, curriculum concepts, student interests and various genres and literary characteristics. After reading all ten stories in their library, students learn about the process of elections and cast their vote for their favorite title for the year. A campus winner is named and all votes are submitted at the district level so a Round Rock ISD winner can be selected.
